24 Hours in Sanur
While bustling and crowded in the western beach of Kuta, go
to the east to get into the charm and lovely beach of Sanur. Sanur was the resort area began and stay in
the middle, never been to classy or to be hippy place. It has a quiet and
relaxed feel, and has been friendly for walker or to biker. This area
surprisingly a lot to offer, from nice café to hang out or traditional
Balinnese food and the kite you can fly. Historically this is the place where
the Dutch landed, the Le Mayeur painter fall in love and stay in and the

Getting up early in the morning, get ready at 5.30 AM to watch the sunrise from the

After having yourself full with nice Balinnese food, now 09.00 AM is the time to visit Le Mayeur Museum. This gate is exactly on the front of Sanur
Beach. The museum was the house of Le Mayeur the Belgian Painter who live in
Bali from 1932 until he died. He married Legong dancer Ni Polok, and the
house full of elegant art and antiques.
This house is an Balinese style achitecture and house of 90’s painting of Le
Mayeur which are impressionist paintings. It display the daily life and often
his wife Ni Polok with vibrant colour that later became popular with young
Balinese artist.

Go in further to shop
or just to browse Balinnese fabric
and ceramics at 10.00 AM. To buy gift in fixed price in Alas Arum Agung. Go to Jalan Danau Tambilangan to buy gorgeus tableware and various of
glassware in Gudang Keramik. Not far
from there go to Nogo Bali Ikat Center
where a store sell very giid quality of woven ikat fabrics.
For lunch in 12.00 AM
get ready to have more Balinese food in Legendary Fish stall in Mak Beng. The stall has already opened
since 1941 and many celebrity has already try the fish. The dish is come with
the soup and fried fish. Try the fresh cucumber in the soup and dip your fried
fish to the chili sauce.

Have a rest and relax 13.00 AM to have massage at amazing
Spa at Aroma Spa Retreat. Placed at
right on the Sanur beach have coconut bodyscrub to cleanse yourself from toxic,
and relax at flower, milk , and honey bath. This luxury can be replaced if you
budget not more than $ 50 USD and have a traditional massage in Carla Spa in Danau Tamblingan.
For the start of afternoon in 15.30
AM, go to Massimo on the edge of
Danau Tamblingan street. Have a great gelato that you can crave at Sanur.
Especially the Balinese Orange taste have perfect combination between cold,
tangy and sweet. With 20.000 you can have two flavor that you will takes a long
time to pick. Inside there is Italia restaurant and nice shade to finish you

Find a motorcycle in 16.00 AM to continue further north at Padang Galak Beach to see kite flying festival. The kite is huge
and can be up to 10 meter in length. This kite flying can be seen in July and
August and have deep religuos meaning. They send a messages to God to create
abundant crop and harvest, and this event compete by banjar from the city. This
festival is rocked by gamelan music and stunning view of beach and ocean. Even
if there is no event, you can surf

Relax and have a cup of coffee at Sanur most popular
restaurant at Café Batujimbar at 18.00 AM
at Danau Tamblingan street. Sip a great coffee and have a sandwich or salad
to accompany you. This café is fully packed the foreigner, inside the building
have a very Balinese scenes of photo.
For more cozy night try go to the patio and if you are lucky there is
Jazz night on Thursday.

To complete your perfect day, go to Kayu Manis the Tandakan
street. This highly regard and packed by expat has their own secret location.
Make sure book in advance and try the great tuna carpaccios. This tiny place is
in between Danau Tamblingan and Bypass Ngurah Rai. You will have pleasant surprise here!
