The Taman Sari Water Palace of Jogjakarta is a summer
palace, a mosque and also the leisure place for the king. This palace is like a
hanging garden, such a beautiful place with a pond in the middle. As a leisure
park for the Sultan, the place have to be packed by his harem and pool inside.
The king enter this place with boat, and the harem is waiting for the king.

This soft colour of cream and unique architecture is already
the ruin, you really need an imagination to and also a guide to really appreciate this place. Because what I already tell you is only a history, the
ruin is already rumble apart. Right now this place is a ruin and also a puzzle
and maze to wander around. Once I swim with my imagination, I really falling
love with the place.
Taman sari is built in mid 18th century, this palace have
four area which is large artificial lake and pavilion, a bathing complex, and
small lake on the east. Only the bath complex which is preserved while the
other area have became a settlement area.
Before entering the building we decided to pick the guide in
front of area, and he is a servant of king that we called abdi dalem. First we
go the area that was the entrance for the king into the main building. This place called Kamandhungan Kuduil, we can still walk on the lay out of the pier.
The royal vessels was placed here and the sultan enter the area with the
vessel.

Look across the area has already no water at all, now I was
seeing in up above the pier. Whole area is already fill by people and their
home, I guess the picture of that place can only happened again in our
imagination. It was cool to reenact the vision of Sultan. We continue our
journey from the tunnel. The tunnel was under the former lake, and was used as
water vent. This place is called Sumur Gumuling .In the middle of tunnel there
a wonderful underwater mosque. The mimbar in the middle have four stylish stair
and the room scattered around. This location is carefully placed and it has some kind of sound system, the one in the middle can be heard from all over the
place.
This place is not only used as a mosque. This place is also
a defense system fro the sultan family. The confusing tunnel can be used for
placing soldier, to store food and also the place to meditate. A secret and
unknown tunnel are said that this tunnel can go as far as Indian Ocean. The
Javanese believe that's the Sultan is the husband of mystical Nyai Roro Kidul,
the queen of Indian Ocean.

After walking on the tunnel we finally arrived at the gate.
This gate is the placed for tourist and known as Taman sari. This is just one
big complex called Umbul Pasiraman. This
bathing complex can only be entered by the women only except for the Sultan.
This bathing place is the place for voyeurism of the Sultan, he can peek the
bathing woman. Finally this is also the end of journey and edition of Java
Trip. Hope that my story can give you inspiration to start and take a road trip
across Java.
