Trekking on The Beauty of Putri Mountain

Last friday 28 June 2014 I went Hiking on the foot of Bandung Basin. I am with Pelita going through pine forest in Lembang. First stop is in Panorama building near Lembang market. The weather was cloudy, and a little bit cold in the end of June. June supposed to be dry season, but I don't know why it was still raining sporadically.

There were three difficulty on this trekking, short, medium, and long. I am going with Temy and his cousin Tata, her boyfriend and father Felix. They were nice people and this is the first time I was going with them and it was fun. From the Panorama we were walking out the building and complex, we went into Kampung.

It was a little rain in kampung, so we decide to used the rain coat. After having the raincoat, the rain was stopped. Sometimes rain had a little joke on us, but thankfully there were no raining. We lead to wrong direction, the road was slippery and very steep into kampung. We have to turn back and back on trek.

Walking through kampung, we can see the people here have big cattle, and the aroma of their dungs was also accompany our journey. After the kampung, we were getting into the dammar forest. These tree were the source of gum for resin. Getting into the forest, the forest have more dense of the tree. We were hiking into the Gunung Putri. These area were Junghuhn living labrotarium. There even his grave, which not taken care very well. It is so sad, that Junghuhn have very significant gift to Bandung, He was the explorer who found Kawah Putih, and many plantation were also research by him.

After about 30 minutes in the forest, we turn into main road.  The condition of the road was muddy and rough. There were some of off road motorcycle, car and bicycle also pass through this road. There were landfall and big hole on the road, and there was jeep car getting through this. This was my first time to witness how cool they pass through this. This makes me want to do off road some day.

Getting back to the camp was at 6 o'clock, we have 4 hours trekking. After had some drink and cleaning we were eating fried chicken in Lembang.
