Opium Centre Transformed into Royal Villa by the Compassion Mother King from Mae Sai to Doi Tung

Mae Sai is bustling border town with Myanmar. At the end of Thai has many gold shop, souvenir, jade are all the important commodity for their trading activity. The bridge in the end of the road will take us to Myanmar town called Tachileik.

Is very tempting to cross to another country, because we can see the other country but not stand on it. Being in border, the neighbour grass is greener proverb is very spot on, our sight on the other side but somehow  can distract us with the place we stand. With the $10 visa, I only make a new bucket list to go to Myanmar. Anyway the crossing into Myanmar only valid as far as city Kengtung and not beyond.

We only take lunch and then continue to the Museum of Opium. I wait outside the Museum, while Albertus and storm into the life of the druglord. The opium is made by flower of poppy. I saw the picture of the flower, I really dreamed of laying in the field of poppy flower too bad there is none of them. Since the mother queen had arrived, this conflict area became the tourist area, like us. The planter of opium usually by the minority hll tribe, their marginally postition forced them to do it.

Not far from Mae Sai, we came to the house of the king Mother. in Doi Tung  Her name is Srinagarinda, she married the prince Mahidol and raised the King of Bhumibol, Thai current king. After the death of the prince, he lived in Switzerland. She loves to care for people, once she was studying nursing. The Doi Tung area was very poor at 1970's time, with compassion heart make a foundation for farmer in Doi Tung.

She made a lovely wodden teak Royal Villa in Doi Tung area to serve the people. The Royal Villa  is built from the element of Switzerland building with Thai Lanna culture. This building also accompany with Mae Fah Luang garden and the centre of education for hill tribe. The Hill tribe was once using the slash and burn method and planting opium, right now with the initiation of the queen . Right now the farmer is planting coffee, fruit and teak.

Getting into the Royal Villa we can see how lovely she is. She love to do stargazing, so the ceiling of the hall full by the star map. I like astrology, and this picture excites me. The room is very warm and has motherly touch. In her room, there is book, knitting and many plant she cared. The things that she cared radiates in this building, I really like to visited her house. So warm and tender, sit and admired the beauty of the building and the mother queen soul.
