Happy Wedding Day: Soety and Evie

This June 2014 I have opportunity back to Singapore.  My best friend wedding, Soetiady. This is a precious moment for my friend and of course for me. On 13th of Friday 2014, I was in Singapore. I went to the church where my friend going married.

The Church is that old

Presbyterian Church in Singapore, is a beautiful church, how wonderful that my friend married in this historical church. This church is one of the earliest church in Singapore, this church is also known as gereja kecil (little church) or Scotch church, is reference the original church of Scots.

 Building in 19th century this building is one of the few remaining. The one-story religious structure has tiled pitch roofs built in Palladian style.

In this church, there is also Indonesian community. This community has very strong relationship to each other, as I saw that Soety was helped by them. This marriage was arranged and helped by the church, which I feel they were genuinely one family.  

Soety is one of my best friend, I was there to be his best man. I literally bring his wedding ring from Bandung. Traveling is about people we met, and he is the one we've been with since middle high school. He is the one who teach me about humble, hard work and bravery in life. He finally met the one he loved and involved in his wedding was wonderful opportunity.

The ceremony in this church was very calming. The minister is very kind person, he reminded them that in this life meeting the person you love is a gift.  Life itself is a gift, meeting someone you love is also a gift. Gratefulness is indeed our breath to our life.

After the wedding, the banquet was ready. We had a great meal especially the shrimp wasabi. The shrimp was freshly made, and the sauce has mild taste to complement. They finish the wedding with the beautiful release of balloon in this church. Hope they have great family time ahead.
