Chiang Rai Architecture Masterpiece:White Temple vs Black House

The beautiful yet unique building can be found in Chiang Rai, not only one but two outstanding building. Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, it's like one of the holiest building. White is the symbol for purity, and here is literally white in every corner. The building has fine carve, and artistic in all the detail.

This beautiful temple never failed the visitor. It just stunning.

On the other side of Chiang Rai, the Black House is whole black. In addition they placed with formation of stone and some bone, skin of dead animal. This building is something on the black cult. The building is scattered around and have fine characteristic of Lanna horn rooftop.

White Temple

This White Temple is on the side of highway, it very striking when you found it.  Just like the sun, white color of the temple with the reflection of will flash your eyes. This beautiful white temple give me deep impression and amazement was deeply felt.

Very complex and whole white building in this area

The temple is the symbol of heaven, and once you enter the building you cannot move backward. Before enter the building we pass through the bridge. On the side of the bridge there are hands, hands clawing on the air. Some hand holding a  bowl with coin money, some even holding the skull of human. The sin is appealing and tempted, but if you look forward and there is beautiful white temple, you will readily move to the temple.

On the bridge there are a lot of hand to capture you on the way to Heaven.

Finally I arrived at the temple, and inside there is Buddha. This temple is not only beautiful but give you meaningful journey. Once you follow the path , the right path you will be here. Here in this peaceful world. Once you get out, you can buy white petal. You can write your wish and put it in this temple, which you wish to be happened.

Black House

This Black House don't have any affiliation with any religious group. It is purely artistic purpose and surprisingly they have many old shamanic symbol. The horn symbolize wild animal, this theme is repeated in this house. Wild, means raw energy, it has independence, naivety. On the western society it also symbolize of rebel, anti-establishment.

A lot of dead skin and horn symbol. You can feel the dark side here.

There is also rock formation, which somehow can make me calm

In this house you can see how the black building blend with the dead animal hide, skin and skeleton with the formation of rock give somehow a stillness of energy. When you getting into the dark side, your dark side actually is not that scary. It has some kind of beauty.

Relax, even Buddha feel relax in this dark places

So which one do you like? The white one or the black one?
