The door is blue, and yes they also sell coffee. The main
point about this cafe is about the soul in this shop, they have a narrow yet
full of celebrity graffiti. I really like how the interior give the nice and
warm atmosphere of coffee. When I was there one month ago, I saw young and
fashionable Bandung people are around here. So this was the picture of younger
Bandung which I like, the chic, creative place.

To get yourself into inspiration talking, of course you have

to have conversation about dream.

I came here since about 5 years ago, and I started to fall
in love with coffee from this place. The owner, Nael, is very passionate about
Indonesian Coffee. Altough the word of cappuccino and Espresso is came from
Italy, the world best coffee is from Indonesian. I admitted, I had a doubt about
that statement and he gave me a blind test. And yes, the coffee in sachet is
mostly grain, and how small body the Starbucks coffee is and I enjoy my
espresso of Indonesian Coffee . I was became the coffee drinker since then.
This is how the chemex is done |
In the front of this coffee shop is rather dull, but came
inside you can see the garden inside city. The weather is somehow very cool and
nice inside. Last week I ordered chemex
coffee here. The slow pouring coffee will give you the whole taste of coffee
and it is sour and have very strong body. Or give a shot of their cappuccino and
eat the chicken rice bowl will give you total satisfaction!

the coffee beyond Starbucks taste. They also can mix your coffee with extra
float and if you like the sweet beverages try the cappuccino float. The croissant
is also recommended to accompany your coffee, it is crunchy and also sweet.

The rise and fall
Preanger Coffee
Coffee has its own mystery, from the beginning of the Sufi
of Yemen this coffee has bring much history. Banned by the Ottomans and
synonymous as the rebellion movement in Europe, and this seed is also the birth
of brutal colonization by the Dutch in Indonesia. The Dutch Company was birthed
by spice and enlarge by coffee plantation, and their first gate to received
coffee is on Batavia in17th century. Since then, West Java area, known as
Priangan , was the export place of coffee.
The high profit of this trade by the Dutch was very contrast
with the hard living of the local farmers. The cultursteltel system by the
Dutch, forced the local people to plant and sold the coffee as the tax. This
system was very harsh for the economical and social life of the farmer, they
were so poor. This story of coffee was wrote and published by Douwes Dekker,
the story of Max Haveelar. He initiated the first international fair trade
mission unfortunately the Indonesian cultivation system have not made he
farmers life's better.
However the glory of Javanese coffee faded by the disease
that killed coffee plant all across Java. Only the places with over 1.500 mt
retain it's history, and of them is in southern Bandung. This place was near
the forest, and sometimes the small mammals called Luwak was eaten the coffee.
And it is known as Coffee Luwak as the most expensive coffee in the world.
